The goal of this set of training programs is to empower Panorama Novaview users
to embrace the power of the products in such a way that it becomes inherent in their
business processes.
Communities Served by the Panorama Training Program
Several distinct user communities are affected by a Panorama implementation. These
include:
- Technical Implementation and Support (TIS)
- Power Users - Analytical and View Maintenance
- Report Users
The Technical Implementation and Support community are often engaged in the early
stages. This group may be involved in providing the current reporting and analytical
mechanisms. They will often attempt to build Panorama tools with little training
or knowledge. A frustrated TIS group will result in a limited implementation at
best and an abandoned implementation at worst.
The Power User Group consists of users that are often driving the analytical and
reporting tools of the company based on the needs of the user community. They will
not only answer "ad-hoc" needs, but provide the views that become embedded in the
organization. This group may already have various tools that will be displaced and
their ability to respond to various requests will help mold the opinion of a successful
implementation.
The Report Users Group represents numerous users varying from managers to line-of-business
users. They require limited but specialized access that answers specific questions
about their business or process. Satisfying this group will ultimately be a key
to success and expansion of the Panorama implementation.
Training the Panorama Communities
An effective training program must take into account the needs of each of Panorama's
user communities. It must be as varied in approach as the individuals we are trying
to reach.
To this end, a mixture of self-paced and instructor-led opportunities should be
given to the customer and while features provide a good beginning for discussion,
relevant specifics will drive the point home.
